Tanzania have brightened their chances of making it to the next round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers after humbling Morocco 3-1 in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.
Substitute Thomas Ulimwengu who replaced Mwitula Kazimoto after the interval gave the home side the lead before TP Mazembe’s Mbwana Samata netted a second half brace to send the Tanzanian team into second place of Group H behind Ivory Coast.
Morocco who have in previous years proved difficult for Tanzania to beat failed to recover after going three goals down as Tanzania coach Kim Poulsen brought on Athuman Iddy and Azam FC’s John Bocco.
With nine minutes to fulltime Morocco were reduced to 10-men when Abderrahim Chakir was sent off for a bad tackle.
